Background Information[]
Aviwe's father disappeared and left his mother, brother and himself alone when he was young. He was exposed to the violent harsh reality of the South African townships with gang shootings and unrest rife. Hence he grew up accustomed to violence and weapons. When he was 12 his step father brutally attacked his mother and almost killed her. They then fled the house in the middle of the night frightened for their lives as their step father was yet again extremely intoxicated. His mother really struggled to get by from then on, she had to work 2 jobs in order to just take care of Aviwe and his brother. On his way to and from school he would have to walk 7km just to avoid walking to the gang area where there would always be some sort of shootout or altercation. They lived off cheap food such as "pap" a stable maize meal in South Africa and if they were lucky they would get bread a few times a week. Once a month, after his mother was paid, she would buy boerewors (a type of Sausage) and they would have a braai (similar to a BBQ) and invite all their neighbours over. It was the only time he felt a sense of community. His mother had always tried to instil good values and she was deeply religious and would drag Aviwe and his brother to church every Sunday.
He worked extremely hard in school despite having minimal resources at his disposal and managed to score a bursary to the University of San Andreas to study engineering as he had always been a lover of machines and motor vehicles. His aim of moving to San Andreas was to get away from the terrible gangs of South Africa who ran the streets full of violence. He intents to try rid his life of all violence since his childhood greatly desensitized him to it and showed him the horrific results.
The Smiley Incident and Face Scar[]
Whilst catering for the funeral of Joshua Wade at the Rockford Hills Church, the Smileys locked the door to the church and 2 crazy women began pouring gasoline everywhere whilst holding everyone at gun and knife point. Aviwe found an opportunity and attempted to shoot the crazy women however he was shot down. The women then proceeded to cut a smile in his face with a knife whilst Aviwe screamed and cried in agony. They then lit everyone alight.
