General Description[]
August is a member of the Obscure Collective.
August considers himself situational non-pacifist, meaning he prefers to avoid violence, but can be counted on as backup when it counts. When there is a way to resolve a situation peacefully, he will usually find it. It is the belief of his colleagues that he's hiding a twisted, sadistic dark side, and secretly loves hurting people, though he denies this.
He has a strained relationship with his long lost brother, Tobias Grimm.
Appearance[]
August is a tall, broad shouldered individual, standing at 6'3. He usually has his hair combed to the left, and sports a thick, magnificent beard. While he does his best to keep anyone from finding out, his beard is actually fake. Underneath his fake beard, August has a much shorter, well groomed beard that only gets seen very rarely by anybody.
Augustus is generally very well dressed, making sure his appearance and clothing match his demeanour. An exception of this are the gucci slides he wears to every single on of his outfits. While they do not necessarily match the rest of his outward appearance, he will do his best to convince everyone that they are in fact "drip".
Background[]
August grew up in Germany, living with both his parents and his little brother until his early teens. It was at this time that his parents divorced after constantly fighting over money problems, separating him from his mom and brother and leaving him with his father. To pay his debts, his father had been involved in organised crime, doing things that would eventually get him killed when August was 17.
Living on the streets for a year, August was approached by his fathers former colleagues shortly after turning 18. He was forced to work for them to continue paying off his fathers debt under threat of his mom and brother being killed. August ended up working with them for 4 years. In this time, he got very good at what he was doing. It was also the time he would form his ethical code. He hated threatening people, hurting, torturing, robbing. It made him sick to his stomach. If possible, he would avoid it at any costs. While this got him into trouble with the people he worked for on more than one occasion, they couldn't argue with results and he was always let off the hook.
At the age of 22, August received a phone call from his brother informing him that his mother had been killed. Shot in the head. No clean-up, nothing. It was never clear if this was a way to punish August, or if this had anything to do with what his father had done before he died. The only thing that was clear, was that August had failed in protecting his only remaining family.
After telling his brother to leave the country as fast as he can, August went to work on finding the person responsible for the murder of his mother. It took him almost half a year of investigation, calling favours he had gained in his 4 years of work and avoiding the group he used to work for to find his mothers killer. His was the first life August ever took. There was no remorse, no regret, only hate and then sadness over how little this changed the fact that he would never speak to his mother again. There was nothing left for him. He left the country, hoping to start a new life and one day reunite with the only living family he has left.
Arrival in Los Santos[]
His first weeks in Los Santos, August tried to find a proper job, quickly realising the job market there was hell. He ended up spending most of his time on store deliveries and sanitation, slowly losing his mind in the process. It became extremely clear, extremely fast. Los Santos was corrupt, crime rates were through the roof, and the only way to make a decent living would most likely be to join them. August despised himself for even thinking about going back into crime, but also knew that he needed money if he was going to live at least somewhat decently, and more importantly, find his brother one day.
August's opportunity came one day in the form of Seano "The Chemist" Blackthorne who offered him a ride outside of apartments. On the way, August talked about the problems he had been facing the city, which prompted the Chemist to offer him a spot in his crew. Still not being sure, he took the Chemist's number as he got out of the car, saying he'd think about it. Later that same day, August finally had enough and decided he would accept the offer. This was the start of his place among the group that would later become known as the Obscure Collective.
