Background Information[]
Artyom lived in Moscow for many years with his mother, the only person he cherished, she taught him to always be good and to treat others as he would like to be treated. When Artyom was 16 he was heavily addicted to krokodil made up of the synthetic morphine, also the drug is known to be 10 times more potent than morphine, but with very bad side effects. When Artyom was walking around Moscow streets he was approached by two cops where he was beaten half to death for not handing over 7814 Rubles($100 USD), this beating damaged his back handicapping him from running normally, but he still stands tall while he walks, to not show his weakness.
Artyom doesn’t know his father, his mother said he was an addict and left him for a bottle of Rum and a bag of drugs. Artyom has the same trait that his father has, any drug that he gets a hold of will be hard for him to drop.
When Artyom turned 18 his mother Irina died of cancer at the age of 55 this crushed him making him an orphan. He couldn’t stand being in a place where the shine of his life was extinguished. He heard from street rats that America was the land of opportunity, freedom, and it feels like a dream. Artyom couldn’t believe a place could be that amazing. Artyom sobered up and saved enough money to live and work on a fishing boat to enter America by the age of 21. Artyom wishes for a new life and role for him in America.
