Anthony Ricci (know as Tiny Tony or simply Tiny) lived a sheltered life before moving to Los Santos and being introduced to Carmine Mosca by Samantha Snake. Carmine ushered Tiny Tony into the mafia lifestyle by introducing him to The Balbani Crime Family. During his time as an associate, BCF was violently disassembled by The Dons, who claimed certain members as their own. Tiny Tony was brought into The Dons shortly after.
Tiny Tony was born and raised in Staunton Island, Liberty City. His parents died in what he describes as a "ballooning accident." In reality his parents were murdered in an organized hit by the Sindacco Crime Family over an owed debt. After this event Tiny Tony moved in with his Grandmother on his fathers side at the age of 2 years old (affectionally called Grandmama Mia). Grandmama Mia worked to shelter Tiny Tony from the cruel realities of the world, and protect him from the truth of what happened to his parents. Tiny Tony was homeschooled by Grandmama Mia, and spent most of his time working in her restaurant located below the apartment they shared in Little Italy. Tiny Tony was frequently tempted to hang out at a local bar down the street, ran and frequented by the Sindacco Crime Family. His Grandmother warned Tony not to go near this bar, but he eventually found himself spending more and more time there. The Sindacco Crime Family took a liking to Tony, and as he got older began to offer him work. At first he was simply bussing tables at the bar for tips, but was one day asked to deliver a package across town. When Grandmama Mia learned of this, she panicked that Tony might learn the truth of what truly happened to his parents and demanded he travel across the country to the city of Los Santos in order to get him as far as possible from the Sindacco Crime Family.
