Description[]
Abathar is a religious man and believes he is the disciple of a deity known as “The One Truth”. He came to Los Santos to form a new congregation, or cult as some would call it, to assist him in carrying out his mission of weighing the souls of the wicked.
Background[]
Abathar suffers from amnesia from a trauma he suffered as a child. All that remains of his childhood are broken fragments of his religion and The One Truth.
The Coma[]
Abathar spent several years in a coma before coming to Los Santos. When he finally woke up from the coma, he had no idea what had happened to him. The only thing he knew are the words, “The One Truth”, carved into his chest. Not long after this, Abathar started experiencing schizophrenic episodes and began hearing voices that he calls, “Echoes of The One Truth”.
Soon after waking from the coma, Abathar’s schizophrenia worsened and he began committing murder under the belief that he was “weighing their souls” to determine their worthiness for forgiveness. Police were soon able to track Abathar down and arrested him for his crimes. After the judge ordered a mental evaluation, Abathar was placed in a mental institution.
Mental Institution[]
Abathar was diagnosed with schizophrenia and psychopathic tendencies. He felt the police, judge, and those are the mental institution were only there to prevent his mission. He devised a plan and waited until the time was perfect. Abathar left the institution, leaving behind a trail of dead bodies, and made his way to Los Santos.
Personality and Behavior[]
Abathar is calm and calculated. He’s approachable and tries to be accepting of everyone, at least until he determines if they‘re wicked and in need of being judged. He can often be seen lurking in the background, never wanting to be the center of attention. He always carries The Athame of Polaris with him wherever he goes. Abathar can sometimes be found out in the woods holding rituals to honor The One Truth. Due to his schizophrenia, you can often hear him talking to himself.
