A.J. Hunter is a Trooper for the San Andreas State Police, Badge #207.

He was previously a Sergeant for the Los Santos Police Department, Badge #407.

A.J. is one of the longest standing cops in Los Santos, serving on the force for 4 years. While he is one of the more lenient Command members, he has been praised by Officers as both leader and FTO, due to his upbeat and reassuring teaching methods. He can be easily identified on scenes by his signature eye black makeup, dark brown spiked hair, and unique neck tattoo.

Personality

The description of "one of the scariest cops on the force" has been given by several criminals, in reference to A.J.'s response in situations. He is widely regarded as one of the best shooters on the force. With his situational awareness and gunfire precision, A.J. excels as a "Combat" sergeant for the San Andreas State Police; leading his team with a sense of urgency, tactical advantages, and ensuring constant communication.

While he shines on the field, A.J. lacks enthusiasm when it comes to processing and investigations. Though he tends to keep reports short and to the point, he has shown the ability to provide in-depth and solid paperwork (if absolutely necessary). This was displayed recently in the court case to convict Mr. Chang of murder; his thorough report providing a solid backbone for the final ruling of "Guilty".

LSPD BCSO SASP Bobby Smith Although they don't get to ride along with each other too often due to their schedules, Bobby Smith considers Hunter to be a very good friend. So much so that he decided to make Hunter a groomsman for his wedding (which Hunter did not end up attending). Although it was surprising, considering the fact that Hunter had lied to Bobby about an affair that Vladimir Raven was supposedly having with Jackie Snow. Despite this, Bobby is a big supporter of his and thinks highly of Hunter's abilities as a police officer. He even went out of his way to question Hunter about becoming an FTO, shortly after becoming a member of command because he had seemed unhappy about his position as an Officer. The two had a heart-to-heart, in which Bobby revealed that he felt like an actor pretending to be someone else with his newfound position. Saying that he didn't know what he was doing and suggesting that being a leader is not something that comes easy to him. Hunter was surprised by this and said "Are you fucking with me?" and commenting that he didn't "see it" to be true. The two have similar aspirations, as they both wish to someday become Troopers for the SASP. On January 17th, 2020, following the separation from Raven, as well as Raven's extended vacation; Bobby had a conversation with Senior Officer Hunter regarding his loneliness and lack of physical attention. After a few subtle hints of interest in Bobby's newfound single status, Hunter questioned him about how he was promoted so quickly. Bobby responded that the way he moved up in ranks was essentially sleeping his way there. With the recent police restructure, Hunter asked if that is what he would have to do in order to maybe one day become Trooper. Bobby propositioned Hunter to go on a date with him, and he'd see what he could do to put a good word in for him. The two went on a "professional" date, ending with them sleeping together. This act of infidelity was quickly spread throughout the police department and finally relayed to Raven via Olivia Copper. AJ/Bobby Fanfic, written by Karen Dahmer On February 7th, 2020, after discovering the news of their "date", Bobby was forcefully promoted to Chief of Police by Raven. On that same day, Trooper Tony Andrews announced that Hunter would be receiving a promotion to Sergeant, and a member of Command; following a good word put in by Bobby (in response to Hunter's "actions"). Raven did not take Hunter's promotion well, and has threatened Hunter on numerous occasions, since. Following their promotions, Hunter and Bobby have both implied that they are still "friends with benefits". Independently, both men are notorious for hitting on the vast majority of people that they encounter around Los Santos; indicating nothing is "serious" between them. However, since January, both Hunter and Bobby have shown an increase in jealousy if they witness flirting or increased attention from third parties. (i.e. Hunter confronted Lance Malton, demanding an answer about his relationship with Bobby after they began patrolling together more often.) Bobby has shown an increased interest on his side in the past; ending one of their "make-up/apology" phone calls with, "Love you, Hunter."
