It has come to our attention recently that there is a large influx of edit warring (going back and forth reverting each other's edits repeatedly) occurring on the wiki, especially on high-traffic pages.

We would like to remind you that each page has an accompanying Talk Page which can be accessed with a button right next to a page's edit button. These pages are meant for editors to discuss major edits (preferably before making them), resolve disagreements about a page, and just generally as a means of communication with other editors about a page. More information about how to use Talk Pages can be found here.

Please utilize these Talk Pages for these purposes rather than engaging in edit warring as edit warring is against the rules here, and continuously doing so, REGARDLESS OF THE VALIDITY OF THE INFORMATION YOU ARE ADDING TO/REMOVING FROM A PAGE, will result in you being blocked from further editing on this wiki.

If you have made a good faith and valiant effort to communicate with each other and resolve disagreements on a Talk Page and another editor has failed to do the same or the discussion has become unproductive, please message a Content Moderator on their Message Wall or Discord.

Recently there has been some disagreement on the wiki about whether the current year in-game is 2024 or 2029.

While the initial lore post

did only state "Five years have elapsed"—which on its own, understandably, can be interpreted as slightly ambiguous, potentially pointing to it being 2029—everything in-game, such as IDs and the phone, clearly say that the current year is 2024.

As such, because all available and credible evidence points to the in-lore current year being 2024, and in the interest of keeping the wiki consistent throughout, it's been decided that the wiki will proceed under the assumption that all current events in NoPixel 4.0 are taking place in February 2024, and that the events "five years ago" that took place at the end of NoPixel 3.0 were in December 2018.

I recently did an overhaul to the Notice template to allow for the border to be any color as well as making the code more effecient.

Most pages using this template shouldn't see any change, however, the pages that use the Notice template with 2 different colors for the border may have to be updated.

For example, consider the Notice template with a left border of red while the rest of the border is #e6e6e6.

OLD:

To achieve this before now, the template would have had to be used like so:

{{Notice|style = border: 1px #e6e6e6 solid;|border = red}}

NEW:

To achieve this now after the update, the template would need to be used like so:

{{Notice|border = #e6e6e6|left_border = red}}

Take note that the "border" parameter would now need to use the color that was previously specified in the "style" parameter while the "left_border" parameter now uses the color that was previously specified in the "border" parameter.

I apologize for the inconvenience, but until notices that are affected by this breaking change are updated, they will at least continue to display with a border color of whatever is currently specified in their "border" parameter.

Better late than never but I've uploaded a number of Pride flag images for use throughout the NoPixel Community wiki!

I've standardized their file-naming convention to "[IDENTITY]-Pride-Flag.[FILE_EXTENSION]" so that anyone can find them and use them in pages they edit by doing a file search for the phrase "pride-flag".

Feel free to use them (tastefully) as you please for any pages you maintain that you think could benefit from them,

An example for a use case that I've personally utilized is inserting the wikitext "[[File:Bisexual-Pride-Flag.png|25px|top]]" beside the word "Bisexual" in a character's sexuality element of their infobox. I've found that a size of 25px and a top alignment tend to work best in that scenario. You could utilize that and other sexuality pride flags in the same manner, or in any manner you see fit.

If there are any pride flags you want that I haven't uploaded, feel free to contact me and I'll gladly do so, or you can upload them yourself following the aforementioned file name format of "[IDENTITY]-Pride-Flag.[FILE_EXTENSION]" to ensure they are easily searchable for others.

Edit 2:

Unfortunately, I've discovered that putting an image into the Gender field of the Character Infobox scuffs the field and shows a plaintext category tag. For example, the field will show the image, then "Non-binary[[Category: Non-binary]]" along with a second image in the category due to the template automatically assigning the article a gender category based on the data inputted (which includes the photo, so it thinks its part of the category name). Doing so with the sexuality field still doesn't cause any problems, but it would be neat if we could find a workaround or even have the Character Infobox modified to ignore wikitext in the gender field(?)
